Register to join us for Joppa Community Cleanups to help make a difference in Des Moines

Over our past 11 annual events, we’ve removed more than 550,000 pounds of trash from Des Moines green spaces—that’s more than 260 tons!

WHEN:
Saturday, April 1, 2023
– First shift: 8:30 AM – 12:00 PM
– Second shift: 12:30 PM – 4:00 PM

Opportunities Include:

• Tidying up active camps and restoring abandoned camps to their natural state
• Cleanups in areas and neighborhoods surrounding Joppa and its various properties
• Cleaning up the Joppa Center parking lot and surrounding area
• Helping inside the Joppa Center for anyone that wants to work indoors

If you sign up for an outside cleanup role, activities include picking up, bagging, and carrying debris to trucks and dumpsters.
Wear: Work gloves, long pants, long sleeve shirts, and closed-toe shoes
Need: Pickup trucks, trailers, wheelbarrows, trash grabbers, trimmers, and shovels
