UPCOMING OPPORTUNITIES TO VOLUNTEER
Work Days:
Volunteers are invited on the second Saturday of each month to come help organize, sort donations, move and assemble items, clean the facilities and more.
Shifts are from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Lunch is provided.Attend a VolunTOUR:
Every second Tuesday of the month, we host a VolunTOUR.
VolunTOURs are an opportunity to learn more about Joppa, tour our facilities, and find your place to volunteer.

Become a Joppa Prayer Partner
At Joppa, we believe in the power of prayer and in God’s desire to hear our petitions. We know that all our plans for Joppa are void without God’s blessing. That’s why we are calling on Joppa supporters to pray for the needs of this ministry. Sign up here.
Use Your VTO
Many companies offer paid “Volunteer Time Off” (VTO) for employees to volunteer their time at a nonprofit. If your employer offers VTO, use your time at Joppa!
Bring a Group
Do you have a group looking to volunteer? Whether it’s through your church, corporation or club, we are always looking for volunteer groups to make a big impact. We can accommodate groups at various times throughout each week.
Earn Silver Cord Hours
Are you a student—or do you know a student—looking to earn hours for their school’s Silver Cord Program? Come to Joppa to sort donations, organize supplies, help with food rescue, assist Joppa staff and more.
Join an Event Committee
We are currently looking for volunteers to join event planning committees for the upcoming Down & Out Homeless Fundraiser, Iowa Homeless Memorial and Homeless Christmas Celebration.

Joppa collaborates with community partners, helps homeless people access existing resources, and mobilizes private donations from families, churches and organizations to meet unmet needs in homeless services, housing and education.
