Introducing Thriftmart

Shop smart and save lives!

Joppa is planning to launch Thriftmart, a nonprofit thrift store that sells high-quality new and gently used goods.

Thriftmart will provide sustainable income for Joppa operations, while offering job training for people working their way out of homelessness.

Customers can expect a friendly shopping experience and find unique merchandise at thrift store prices. Most importantly, they can feel good knowing their purchase is helping the community and bringing us one step closer to ending homelessness.

Our objectives:

• Provide sustainable income to cover Joppa core operating expenses
• Enable job training for homeless individuals
• Raise awareness about homelessness with new audiences

The first Thriftmart location will open right next door on Euclid Avenue in Des Moines, with plans to eventually expand into other cities. Stay tuned for more information about our grand opening—coming soon!
