The Joppa Legacy Club is a community of individuals, families, trusts, foundations and businesses who invest in our Endowment Fund to ensure our mission continues today, tomorrow, and forever. It’s more than a donation—it’s a legacy of compassion and continual impact.

Our Mission

Joppa is a faith-based organization that receives no federal or state funding. Our mission is to create communities of unconditional love, support and hope for the homeless, as we work together to end homelessness.

The Need Is Real

Homelessness has been on the rise in central Iowa. Senior citizens make up the fastest-growing segment, and more than one-third of Iowa’s homeless population are families with children. Many of our neighbors have no options, home or hope. Learn more about the need here.

How Your Gift to Joppa’s Legacy Club Makes a Difference

Your gift plays a vital role in lifting people out of homelessness. For nearly 900 consecutive weeks, we’ve never missed a week of outreach to where people live under bridges, in tents and vehicles. 

Our Homeless Resource Center serves nearly 8,000 visitors each year. We help homeless individuals and families off our streets and into homes every week of the year.

How the Endowment Works

The Joppa endowment is professionally managed by the Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines, ensuring responsible stewardship and long-term growth. Each year, a portion of the fund’s earnings is used to support our work, while the rest is reinvested, increasing the fund’s future impact.
