Joppa Kids is a program for K-12 students that provides opportunities to learn about homelessness and do something to help homeless people.

The program builds awareness of homelessness and how to prevent it via age-appropriate reading materials, events and projects.

Learn and Experience:

Learn about the root causes of homelessness to build understanding and help prevent homelessness in future generations. This begins with education and discussion. Here are some book suggestions to get started:

Volunteer and Help:

Do something to help the homeless though volunteer opportunities and service-learning projects. You can make a difference, earn service hours and meet new friends!

• Participate in a Joppa event, such as Project PJ or Joppa Community Cleanups
• Plan an independent activity with your family, church, school or organization (4-H, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, youth group, etc.)
• Collect canned food or supplies, organize a fundraiser or make blessing bags
• Write encouraging letters or make cards for the homeless
• Download and color a Joppa Bear color page, then drop it off at Joppa
